Zagat Ratings & Review
A secret no longer, this “friendly”, cash-only Shanghainese lures “crowds” to Chinatown with an “overwhelming” menu of “intriguing” options, including “incredible” juicy dumplings and pork shoulders; yeah, the setting’s “no-frills”, but no one cares given the “unbelievably affordable” tabs.

I was pleased that Jeanna joined us for her first Meetup with the Group. We were seated promptly. Our servers did not introduce themselves, but were friendly. Our server did not review the menu or the day's specials. Our orders were delivered promptly and correctly. The servings were quite ample. The soup and peashoot dumplings were fresh, piping hot, flavorful and filled with rich broth. The fried prawns were stale and, perhaps, prepared earlier in the day. The pork shoulder had hints of Chinese seasoning but was not as moist and meaty as I had hoped. The Peking duck was a standout, with nicely browned, crispy skin and flavorful meat. The noodles were bland, overcooked and served with too much sauce. The mushrooms and bean sprouts (or was it radish?), were fresh, flavorful and served with a tasty brown sauce. FOOD: Neutral SERVICE: Good OVERALL: Neutral I did not think that the restaurant merited its strong reviews on Zagat.com. and doubt that I'll return.
