Zagat Ratings & Review
The “mother of dim sum places”, this C-town vet allows you to compose a meal from “roll-around carts” stocked with “mysterious”, “fabulous” tidbits; the food is “as good as the service is nonexistent” (ditto the decor), but at least the price is right; it’s usually “packed on weekend mornings”, so pay court “early.”

Food: 20 (very good to excellent)

Decor: 09 (poor to fair)

Service: 14 (fair to good)

Cost: $23 (surveyors' estimate of the price of dinner with one drink and tip)

    Loved the place!

Who attended?

  • 4 attendees
    •  There were many dishes that they served three pieces each. Now I understand why David set the limit to six people for this meetup!

Mandarin Court was not crowded when we arrived. Consequently, we were seated at our own table and received generally attentive service. Dena noted that the restaurant offered a wider variety of dim sum than some other venues. We agreed that the quality of most of the items was acceptable but not outstanding. The baby bok choy and a number of the dumplings were quite tasty. For $19 a person, we ordered everything that we wanted and felt satisfied. After saying goodbye to Robin, Dena, Sakura and I walked to Ferrara's for flavorful Italian treats.
